Transcendent Appliance is a custom lighting design & build shop in Grass Valley, CA. We use a unique process combining old and new arts, from clay to CAD, from CNC and 3D Printing to hand finishing.

We make art with a manufacturing aesthetic, and use the principles of modern "lean manufacturing" to offer a high level of customization. Our look and materials are the modern expression of old Bakelite and Dakaware, beautifully lit by ultra-efficient and long-lasting LEDs, made to last decades.

Founded by Cam Griffin, a lifelong production artist with years of experience tuning light and color in dark rooms as a visual effects artist with Industrial Light and Magic, Transcendent Appliance is the result of years of art with a lighting emphasis.
